Anyone any ideas for my husband's 60th? his health is not good, so I can not really take him away very far . I'd love to buy an experience such as a driving or flying trip but don't think his health would stand up to it. I'm really stuck, any suggestions would be gratefully received

What about something like a local flight simulator or similar?

You could treat him to a special lunch somewhere then take him as a surprise.

Thanks Jenna, good idea I will make some enquiries locally
there is a good flight simulator at THE RAF MUSEUM IN HENDON,and you could have lunch there as well.

That would have been brilliant but unfortunately we live in Lancashire and travelling so far would prove difficult. Thanks for the reply though!
I'm really cr*p at geography...but is this any closer to you...

if not Google flight simulators. If his health is not good what about a relaxation experience....massage etc, although I know that certain conditions prhibit this as well. What about hiring a classic car to take you to and from a special meal.
Hope this helps

Look up Black Sheep Hot air ballons. My wife & family got me a trip for my 60th, it was great. I too am not as healthy as I would wish but it was fine. Mind you, it was an early start.

divegirl -thanks I will look into this, it's in Yorkshire but may be possible for us, we have friends living in York . Sounds brilliant.
Bellringer.- This is also such a good idea that my husband has already got me a voucher for a champagne hot air balloon trip to be taken next year as it was my 60th recently and its something I've always wanted to do. Its for 2 so he'll be coming with me! If he hadn't done it I would have. Thanks
Border air training at Carlise do pleasure flights. you will probably find you can ge the same at Blackpool airport. If you advise about your husbands health when you book, the flight shouldn't be too strenuous. MY husband is training to be a pilot, so we go in small light aircraft all the time, it's not as much pressure on you as when you go on holiday.
Hope you get to do something good.

Another thought, how about a canal boat trip? those that serve lunch are very good and quite relaxing.
