Is sex dangerous in the early stages of pregnancy?

Hi I would have to sya no its not dangerous, Ive had one child and im 5 months pregnant with my second, I had sex all the way through my first pregnancy and never had any problems, Ive been fine this time as well, my sex drive seems to increase when Im pregnant so I would be stuck if someone told me I couldnt have sex!

I would just carry on as normal if something feels uncomfortable then stop doing it, it will probably get a bit uncomfortable as you get bigger as do a lot of everyday things but that will just be because of the weight of your belly and the funny postions your baby lies in, I really do doubt that you would ever hurt the baby by having sex, if this was the case then doctors would say not to have sex at all.

Have fun !!xx

Thankyou very much.. The case is as I expected.. but it's always best to check these things.. and what is heard on the grapevine often contributes to, what is more often than not, worrying way too much!!

Thanks
The only time you shouldnt have sex in early pregnancy is if you have suffered any bleeding, then you should avoid it til 12 weeks.
as boobesque says it should be avoided if there is a history of bleeding.

other than that its just a case of whether the mum has the energy and the inclination.
If the father had an exceptionally large, erm, appendage, would there not be a risk of brain damage?

thankyou very much everyone.. I am however the man in question.. but the advice is helpful all the same.
after my babys head had engaged i found certain positions uncomfortable.
lots of people have sex without even knowing they are pregnant so as long as its comfortable then fine.
I couldn't have got through my pregnancies without my nookie :o)

seems i sparked quite a conersation.. for that i am happy.. not nearly as happy as i am from th answers i've received.. Thank you all very much for your input.
As has been said already , if there has been any bleeding then it is not advisable but also if there has been any previous miscarriages , it is advisable to wait until twelve weeks and to go on the advice of your GP. It's worth noting that although it's best to grab what you can - so to speak - in the early stages before her bump is too big and it's uncomfortable for her , you should also bear in mind that if she has terrible morning sickness then nookie might be the last thing on her mind. I suffered dreadful morning sickness in my pregnancies and felt rough as hell. The early stages of pregnancy is when it's at it's peak but if she is feeling well and has had no problems in her pregnancy , then I don't see why not. She will also be very tired just now though and may not feel up to it. The first stage of pregnancy in particular is very draining so she will be relying on you to give her as much support as possible and to ensure that she gets proper rest. Congrats by the way x
