Can anybody recommend any decent holiday resorts abroad to take two teenage children to. Preferably somewhere where its not to rowdy but also not to quiet for them. Also somewhere where it's reasonably safe for them to walk about on their own within reason. We were thinking somewhere like spain, mallorca, canary islands or greece.

If you like Spain, the Torremolinos is lovely - nothing like the old hoary cliche. Most tourists are German and Italian, and there is night life in the town, and nice cafes and bars along the beach. It's certainly safe enough, using the same common sense that applies anywhere these days.

Fuertaventura (think thats how you spell it)!! - one of the Canary Islands is great.
I have a 13 year old daughter and we went last year to the resort of Cala De Fuste - we stayed in the Amarilla complex and all the entertainment was there - you didnt really have to venture away from the complex at nite.
Good luck

I can't recommend Javea, Costa Blanca Spain highly enough. It is really lovely, lots of great restaurants and lively bars with a few late bars/clubs. There is a fabulous adrenal that is very safe for teenagers to walk about on their own and wander in and out of the bars. We have been loads of times and we have never seen any gangs or fights. My friends and family have been with children from 3 up to 21 and everyone including the adults have have a wonderful time.
Benidorm, stay in the old town. Its lovely there and you are away from the noisy pubs, but right on the beach and close to the theme parks. Aqualandia is the best water park i have been to and terra mitica is amazing. One entry fee and every ride is free. So much to do there. Good luck in your search.
