A blessing has as much religion as a baptism, but no water.

A naming ceremony has no religious connotation whatsoever and can be carried out anywhere to name and welcome the child.

I can't imagine why you would want more than one blessing ceremony.

my friend split up with her husband they have 2 boys aged 3 and 5. they were blessed in a church which is where my friend and her husband thanked god for the children but didnt promise to raise them christian and it would be the childrens decision when they were old enough to decide for themselves.
my friend has a daughter by her new partner and wants to get her blessed but she is worried that the boys will feel left out, i told her that surely as it was in a church u couldnt get them blessed again! thats when she started asking about the differences,
i also thought that as she will need birth certificates for the children to be blessed i said she might need the boys father's permission??
I would have thought that your friends vicar would be able to answer all her questions.
