Square Deal Mobility
1 Answers
Does anyone know of this company or have they had any dealings with them? They're based in Luton and also seem to go under the names of AMC Ltd., AVC Mobility and Forever Active mobility.
My 76-year-old mum answered an advert of theirs on the telly and last week they came round and half talked her into buying a fancy new mobility scooter that she doesn't need and can't afford (she's very gullible). They said it was going to come out of her DLA (but she still can't afford it), and have left her with an invoice and something called a 'demands & needs statement - non advised sale' from a finance company. She doesn't appear to have signed anything yet, although these people said they would deal with all the paperwork for her.
After consultation with my sister and and I and our respective blokes, Mum called them back yesterday and said she wanted to cancel the deal. Since everything was done during a home visit, I said I'd also put this in writing as per her rights to cancel any agreement within a seven day period.
Anyway, they called back this morning to ask why she wanted to cancel, and she told them. Now she's having them call again tomorrow, no doubt to try and talk her into taking the thing on 'easier' terms. Luckily I'm going to be able to be there but I'd like to know, if possible, what sort of people I'm up against.
