my little girl is nine weeks old and currently having 6oz bottles every 3-4 hours and i feeding her too much she is taking it all it says on the tin sma only 4oz for her age ?? its my first baby

Was she a large baby and is she following her weight and length centiles?

if shes taking it all and not being sick then its probably ok. some babies drink more, some less that what it says on the tin.

she was 7.4 oz and is gaining weight as normal i just dont want too feed her too much

Are you using the SMA type for hungrier babies ( blue tin) my three young uns quickly became unsatified by the SMA Gold stuff.

when you next see the health visitor at baby clinic then ask them what they would suggest but I wouldnt say that 6ozs is over the top, but then my lad was a bit bigger at birth.

Could she be thirsty instead? what are her nappies like? is she constipated or is it an odd colour that could indicate a tummy upset or wind?

her stools are sometimes hard but thats what formula milk does she has cooled boiled water everyday too

ok, well if her stools are generally ok and shes having cooled boiled water then perhaps try the hungrier baby sma as pampers said but speak to HV anyway in case they can offer any alternative advice.

id say try 2 give her water in between feeds aswell.
cause most of my mates did that b4 they tried the second stage milk

my son took 6oz at 6 weeks and was 6lbs8oz when born so you should be ok. If she is wanting to that often she may need to be introduced to food. They say not to now before 4 months but it was 3 before that . Your baby knows when shes ready!

your baby will let you know when she is hungry and when she is full dont worry the tin is only a guide mother knows best
