Is she Divorced?

Hi, my friend started divorce proceedings 9 years ago - has signed lots of paperwork but has never received a Decree Nisi/Absolute. She has now found out that she is not legally divorced - her ex has never signed any of the paperwork. When she started the proceedings 9 years ago she was not working and so was entitled to Legal Aid - she is now working full time and realises that she will have to pay. Having been separated for 9 years is she classed as divorced? Thanks all.

No she is not divorced. The divorce should be quite straightforward with such a long seperation assuming all financial matters are settled.

It should not be too expensive.
