DS games for 6 year old

I have finally given in and bought one for xmas. I have a games problem as they mainly say from 3 years but I am told that is all to do with level of violence not difficulty. I looked at the back of some in the shop and they give you little info. I would prefer educational but realise this is unlikley but would like ideas of suitable difficulty level ones for a 6 year old. Any info greatly recieved as I am a gaming bozo.

For boys, mario games,sonic games, animal crossing, pokemon,

girls: nintendogs, catz, (every other pet game), bratz, pokemon, (i say this as i'm a girl who plays pokemon), super princess peach and animal crossing
