Frankie is about a year old, neutered tom, not very big - well quite skinny actually! Very active and affectionate, he doesn't seem any different in himself, but he will not eat. It's so frustrating, he's eaten nearly one packet of meat in about a week. He watches me pour the food out, sniffs it and wanders off. I've tried different food brands and not feeding him in the hope that he'll eat the next day. Nothing seems to help so now I'm looking for suggestions? He's the same with dried food except he will sometimes try a bit before turning his nose up at it!
I was wondering if he's eating at someone else's house but he looks like he's lost weight too, whilst my other cat is looking fatter coz he has access to two portions of food every meal time!
It's always a worry but some cats can exist on very little. Have you tried some freshly cooked fish or chicken to tempt him? He could be eating elsewhere but the fact that he is losing weight suggests not. To be on the safe side I would get him checked over by a vet to make sure there is no underlying cause.
