I know someone's already asked about gift ideas, but I'm after a different kind of gift idea I guess.

I never like to just go and buy my mum something, I don't think that requires much thought, so I prefer to make or do something for her instead. My mums favourite meal is a Devon cream tea, so last year while she was visting my bro, I made scones from scratch, got clotted cream and jam and had it all waiting on a plate for her, with a hand made card and cuppa when she got home.

She absolutely loved it, but this year I've drawn a blank and can't think of a thing! I've considered the usual things like cooking dinner (I'm rubbish at cooking) and doing the housework...

Any ideas would be great!

I'm making a family collage, it's not for mother's day but would be just as appropriate.

Or get her a kitten, my mum really want's one. But my meany dad won't let her get another (have two cats already). Little does he know I'm going to get them a silver tabby for their 25th wedding anniversary next month!!
How can you say you can't cook when you can make scones? I can cook anything, but not cakes/scones; they are sooooooooooo hard to do. You must have a professional touch for that, surely.

Does she like chocs? I just threw my Somerfield mag away, but there was a recipe for home-made truffles in there and they did look nice, all packaged up.

There are loads of DVD box sets around these days for all sorts of things if she likes stuff like that.

Take her out for a meal, the two of you, or whoever else you think she would appreciate; it will be lovely.
