Transfer of Property Title
My husband wishes to transfer the title deeds of two properties he owns into my name. The properties where inherited from his parents in 2002, and at present are used as a rental income investment.
For tax purposes, as I am over 60, and a housewife, we felt it would make more sense to have them in my name. But how do we go about that, without having to pay a large sum of money to our solicitor; which is quote: 2000.00 and over in pounds, for each property.
Can anyone help?

I am going to call my local land registrar and ask them what I need to do. It is only a putting of my name on the deeds instead of my husbands. So there will be no monetary exchanges involved.
My husband inherited the properties from his parents who had owned them since the 1950's. So we have no value to go on as we have never really had them valued.
If there is stamp duty to pay, I will let you know.
