parking rights
1 Answers
I have parked in a car park for 28 years approximately. Itis council owned and various lockable barriers have been used for about the last 15 yars for which I have a key and letters from the counil telling me my space number etc. There has never been any payment for this. At one time they tried to introduce it but another person who had parked there for about 30 years got some legal advice and apparently he had some sort of rights as he had parked there so long so the request for payment ceased. The running of this car park has been left to the local housing. assoc who now look after the flats attached to the car park.I live in my own property across the road. Do I have any parking rights due to the length of time I have parked there if the housing association should tell me not to park there any more?

If there is no agreement that defines how long to quit, they could at any time just decide to write and tell you not to park there.
