not being paid from work

I really dont know what to do!
i am 20 years old and 29weeks pregnant, i have not been able to work through my pregancy as i have had lots of problems and been in hospital 3 times for aweek each time. My work have been paying me at the wrong ssp rate they have been aware of this for over 4months now and everytime i ring then im told there being looked into someone will contact you but noone ever does! I sent them a letter saying i would Reluctantly seek legal advise if i didnt recive the money i am owed with my september pay, they didnt pay me what i was owed and sent me a letter back saying that my threat of legal advise was dissapointing and had been noted but still over a month later i have heard nothing from them about my pay i had a meeting with a member of managment about my maternity and holidays and i also mentioned my pay they said id here from them the following week but stil iv heard nothing i went into work on friday they said i would deffently here from them by monday and everything would be sorted but i still have not heard anything and every time i phone there busy! i dont no what eles to do as im only young and have baby on the way and really need my money but cant affored a solisitor!??????????

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.im on ssp as i have been on sick for the whole of my pregnancy as iv been in and out of hospital and advised not to work and need support when im walking, there are different rates of ssp depending on how many days you work and there basing it on the wrong amount of days which means i get paid less every month and some months i was in for a week or 2 but they havent paid me for them. i dont understand why therebeing horrable as before i fell pregnant i was always gettin employee of the month and phrased for my work so its not like im one of those that try and get out of work when ever i can
if you work 5 days a week then i think ssp is �75.40.
but ones you are past a certain gestation then you will only get maternity pay i think.

If your employer doesn't pay you Statutory Sick Pay, or pays you less than you think they should, ask them to give you the reason in writing.
If you disagree with their reason, you can contact the HMRC Disputes Team Room BP 3202, Benton Park View, Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE98 1ZZ or telephone on 0191 225 5221 and ask for a formal decision. They may need to arrange a medical examination.
