How do I create swags for a wedding backdrop?

Hi all, I've been on here before regarding draping for a wedding venue - but I need to know if there is any where on the internet that will show how to do the swag effect yourself.

Anyone know where or how I can learn to do this?
Help anyone please!!!!!!!

what are you attaching the swag and drapes to exactly. They are relatively easy to make - but how are you going to hang them - that will affect instructions. I will come back on tomorrow once you have said.

Hi baileybird thanks for the quick reply.
We are planning to have fabric already on the head table wall - then plan to had the swags/drape onto the top of the fabric, do you understand what i mean?

i think so - you are saying that the wall behing the top table is fabric - like in the link but without the swags

to add the swags I would use a fine voile and just swoop it into position pinning with dressmakers pins to secure. anything too heavy will not be easy to drape.

You should find it easy - but get permission as it could mark the wall fabric.
If you want something a little more elaborate or i have misunderstood, just reply and I will tell you how to make individual swags - they too are dead easy and can be attached vith velcro

The width of the wall is too wide for the voile that is required as it is not available in the width, so cotton is the only thing that is available and cheap to do.

Here is another sample picture - if you look below there will be a picture of 'white silk' and tables. The backdrop in the background is what we want to try and do.

You would run the voile horizontally so it would be the length that determines quantity not the width. The second picture looks like the swags are inflated with air - this is commonly used in marquees and would need a specialist machine to achieve that effect.

Hi again baileybird, its not the picture that all are inflated in red/orange its below the picture all in white.

are you asking
A How to swag the ceiling( I dont think you are)
B How to make the swags which are on top of the curtains but below ceiling ( think you are - see instructions above) these ARE inflated
C) How to make the curtains which go from ceiling to floor.
We will get there in the end

baileybird,i think the lady wants you to look at the wedding pics with white drapes effect and not the one in red.Unfortunately,i have no clue myself.
