Missing relative

What is the best way of getting information on a missing relative in the USA.

I dont know. I could ask my American sister in law in California but the trouble is I never really understand what she is getting at. Same language but different culture and all that. I guess I just felt sorry that nobody had answered you. Hope you find who you are looking for curtis.

do you mean they have gone missing and you are suspicious and worried, or do you mean you have lost touch with them over the years and want to make contact again?
If it is the former ring the FBI, if it is the latter, you need to try checking the US Social Security Death Index for any possoble relatives that may have passed and you recognise by name.
If you have a possibly location you could contact the local town records there and ask for help.

Thanks for your interest.
My elderly relative has never failed to send birthday and Christmas card to me and my four sisters. They have now stopped and coincides with a major forest fire 2/3 months ago in the area (Santa Ana, California) that was reported internationally at that time.
I'll see if I can find a phone number for US Social Security Death Index.
