Present for friend who just had baby

I am going to see her tonight for the first time since she had baby. I haven't got her a pressie yet!! argh!!! I might drive into town in my lunch break. I was thinking of getting her bio oil and baby clothes.

hmm not sure about the bio oil. its a bit "youve had a baby, heres something to get rid of your stretchmarks" lol

my best mate bought me a bag of bits, a little bottle of wine, some candles, a good book, a lipstick and some chocs. She knew that my fave way to relax is in a bath with a good book.

as for something for the baby, theres so much out there, is baby a boy or girl?

Is she religious?

I got my mates baby a really nice cross to go on her bedroom wall.

Yes I wasn't sure about the Bio Oil either so I'm glad you said. I might get her some bath stuff then as I know she enjoys a soak in the bath.

I don't think she is religious ummm but I have just remembered a nice shop nearby thanks to your comment which has nice little baby things - not clothes but like little trinkets

I arranged to go and see friend straight after work tonight and then I remembered I hadn't got present. Argh I'm such a bad friend.

thanks rinkins, well I thought I would have a look in the one baby shop in the town I work in as it would be a huge rush to drive to the next town and back in an hr but they didn't have much in this shop at all so I'm going to have to go after work and get something

I think that is very thoughtful of you. Everyone will be buying stuff for baby, I'm sure Mum will appreciate your kind thought. Besides, there is probably nothing else she needs for the little 'un! You could always treat her at a later time if she needs something she hasn't got.

Thanks hun! I'm meeting my friend a bit later now so I will have time to go to Asda or Matalan for something for the baby. Do you think I should get friends fiancee a little something? I don't know him very well. Maybe a beer or something?

That sounds like a lovely gesture!

If you buy clothes for baby, it might be helpful to get ones that are a bit bigger in size as I would imagine your friend might be inundated with stuff for now. Just a thought. You could always get her useful goodies, baby wipes, cotton wool, muslin cloths etc the more practical things, put them in a little basket or something? You do what you think is best I am sure she will be absolutely appreciative whatever you do.
