prolonged periods with cerazette.?
3 Answers
hi, i was told to go on cerazette as i couldnt go on the combined pill as i have previously suffered from migrain, i started taking cerazette 20 days ago, and since then i have been on my period. i get bad back pain with my periods so this has been a struggle. i went back to my gp on the 18th day of being on, to get some advice and to make sure everything was normal, she said it was common when taking cerazette, and she said come back if your still on by ur next pack. however i have seen that quite alot of people dont have periods at all while taking the minni-pill and was just wondering how long other users were on there first period for when taking this. im undecisive about sticking it out and satying on it for a littel bit longer or coming off because the back pain is getting quite painful now and not sure how much longer i can do it for. before i started taking this pill my periods were rather irregular being sometimes 53 days appart and some times 30 days appart and were hardly ever very heavy, now they tend to be very heavy.
If anyone could give me any advise i would be very greatful thanks sarah.

I have been on Cerezette since December last year, this will be the second time around as I came off it for a year to have an operation. I had a period two weeks after starting and I had a light period in the middle of February. Since then nothing. When I was on it the first time, it took my body at least three months to adjust, and I had no periods at all.
They may not agree with you, but I would give it a few months. However , I sympathise with your back ache and if it gets too much then maybe you should return to the Docs.
Good luck

I am on Cerazette and haven't had a period at all, which sometimes worries me.
If you are not happy go back and speak to someone. It must be really draining on you and back ache is not nice.
I have a really good nurse at my surgery who discusses all the options. Do you have a nurse at the surgery you can talk to?

Thanks for all of your help it has now been around 22-23 days having been on my period but im now glad to say that i have come off, thank god.
it really did drain me and i felt very tired all the time so im so relieved to have come off.
im going to stick it out now, and i am interested to see how my periods change.
if this is re-occurring problem i will go back to the doc's for more advice.
