Unsure...
4 Answers
Hi people
I'm afraid I have an issue that needs a bit of attention because I'm unsure what to do.
Okay, basically I'm in love, but maybe I'm not. I don't know. It's with a guy two years younger who I met on MySpace last year. Me and him are good friends and I'd love to be more than that with him, only I don't think I can because he lives in Missouri and I'm here in the UK; I'd love to do long-distance only it requires a lot of attention (and I'm just unsure what I should do).
If you wonder how good friends me and him are, we're just 'okay' - knowing each other only a bit but we do talk occasionally (about twice, maybe three times a week).
These feelings are so overwhelming and I love him, and I don't know if he loves me. There are some things (like some songs) that I can't do (or listen to) because of him, they make me think of him loads. I don't like thinking of him too much because it makes me think low.
I don't want to risk asking him if he does love me because I'm afraid our friendship would be sacrificed.
All I know that he thinks of me is 'Funny, hot, cute, and smart', but I don't know what I should do now.
So what do I do? What do you suggest?

You are not in love with him, you don't know him, it is just a crush. When you say you talk occasionally, do you mean actually speak to each other or communicate via the internet (MSN or chat or something)?
Long distance relationships can work but I think this one is a bit too far!! How would you ever see each other? You can't have a proper relationship with someone who lives across the other side of the world on a permanent basis!
Personally i think you should stay mates with him but concentrate on finding a relationshiop with someone who actually lives in the same country!

Hi There, I know you probably do believe that you are in love with this guy but like Cheekychops said, you don't know him well enough to know that you love him, it takes time to get to know someone and you need to actually be around them and experience different things with them to know what sort of people they really are. You do sound quite young so if this guy is 2 yrs younger then Im guessing that he's very young. As for what can you do? well there really isn't anything you can do other than carrying on as you have been since meeting him, just take it nice and slow and enjoy the conversations that you have with him (whether they be on-line or phone). If the relationship is meant to go further one day then it will do, there's no rush is there? but I wouldn't put your life on hold or anything, you may just meet someone who is a little more accessable. All the best anyway.
Don't tell him how you feel just yet!! If you really like him, play a little hard to get and let him do the chasing!!
Gals who are too available are scary to most men, and plain off-putting to others, and telling someone you think you love him after just a few weeks will almost certainly drive him away.
Just enjoy the feelings you have for him at the moment, and if you really care for him, take things slowly.
Good luck!

Thanks for all your replies, gosh I can't believe I didn't think of this myself!
I think the first two answers are what I'll do because I agree that it might not work due to the distance, better to wait to a later date than jump in unnecessarily. I especially think that this feeling will subside eventually and reincarnate into a feeling to someone else (Wow I love how I phrased that!); that person might actually live in this country!
beaniesq, as much as I'd love to think of this happening successfully, I think that I need to be more realistic about it and remain friends with him. It's to me the best way, but if he miraculously moved here (or I moved there), then I'll take your advice on board definitely!
But I appreciate your help...all three of you!
