Intensive thunderstorms
2 Answers
It appears likely that a thunder storm was the probable cause of the catastrophic Air France plane crash. Being a nervous flier I read a book a couple of years ago before a long haul flight, about how to overcome a fear of flying, which included a chapter on the basic mechanics of certain aircraft and also a paragraph stating that a plane has never been known to crash as a result of turbulence!
My parent's home in France was recently struck by lightning and practically the entire property has been burned to the ground. Their neighbour's and friend's told my Mum that in the 85 years they had been there, this had been the most terrifying thunderstorm they had witnessed.
Are thunderstorms increasing in intensity and if so why?
