Salary Sacrifice, Childcare vouchers & tax credit
1 Answers
Hi. I have a 2 year old child and I currently work part time. My husband has just gone from part time to full time.
I was receiving the childcare element of working tax credit which paid for my daughter to be in nursery whilst I worked, but, I am now considering working full time.
My husband can receive vouchers as part of a salary sacrifice scheme. Are these IN PLACE of the tax I receive currently, or can we receive both?
It seems that if I work (even part time in a very slightly better paid job), I basically lose the tax anyway, which doesn't seem right, as I am trying to get back to work - I want to work, and I hoped the Government would try to help...
So, to clarify ('cos I'm all over the place!)
Can we receive the childcare element of working tax credit AND vouchers by way of salary sacrifice?
Is there any help to encourage me to work AND have my daughter cared for by a professional body?
If anyone has any insight, or personal experience, I'd be really grateful as I am finding all this a real nightmare!
Thanks!
