Well. went to the Village Post Office to post a letter , as you do, and there were 5 P.O. assistants cos the business is transferring ownership. Anyway, only me on the customer side of the counter when this tall man comes in carrying a tiny Jack Russell dog. the man explains that he is a minibus driver and he has just nearly squashed the fog cos it was cowering in the gutter on the road outside. he asked if anyone recognised it. 3 of the P.O. Assistants came through the secure keypad locked door and stood with the door open whilst they petted the dog.
the taxi driver looked at me and said it was a shame he'd left his baseball bat in the van.
Anyway, the P.O. closes at 3pm, (even thought they sell the Lottery) and it was about 2pm, and the taxi man said he had to go, and so i volunteerd to take the doggie to my Son's work (Pub in centre of village)
anyway the little doggie, totally lost on my back seat, was so cute however, i took him to the village police station. Three Uniformed officers went all gooey over him but detween them the only idea they had was for me to take the doggie to the local kennels that accomodate strays till the dog warden is back on duty monday. It was 5 miles away in the next but one village but I went anyway. Thye scalled him and he was not chipped, if he had of been i would have brought him back to his owners.
Anyway, the farm that have the kennels do horse riding and i haven't ridden a horse seriously for many years but I have booked a go, yayyyyyy, this short term retirement thing is really cvool!!!!
