Hi all, my late grandfather served in the RAF in India during WWII. We recently discovered his DFM among some personal effects following my grandmother's passing, and although we have his serial number (inscribed on the DFM and on some correspondence), I'm unable to discover more about his military service history.
Is there a way of tracing this online? Or should I be asking a question of an RAF history/archive office? If so, can anyone offer me their contact details please? I've no idea where to start this search.

Thanks in advance!
