If your mother needs one, why isn't her surgery providing it?

kopend are you in England? My consultant arranged for me to have one when I left hospital. If you do buy and are in the UK you might be able to claim the vat back - well actually not pay it in the first place - be sure to ask.

Do you know what sort of nebulizer you need and which is best. Do consider before buying as you may be able to get away with a hand held one which may be cheaper.

Don't buy until you have checked with doctor or hospital to see if she's entitled to a free one!

Not all doctors provide them free lucca,my surgery doesn't and nor does my local hospital. I know some do though so it is worth enquiring about before forking out lots of money for one.

I work in a pharmacy and for years we have sold nebulisers.we have stayed with the one type-an Omron CX nebuliser because of it's ease of use and reliability(we've never had reports of a faulty one in all the years we've sold them. This nebuliser is a mains operated nebuliser which we sell for around £75 or if you have a GP's letter stating your need for a nebulising machine we sell the item minus the VAT at £66.some people require a portable nebuliser which is smaller and battery operated. we sell these once in a blue moon so i can't be sure of the price but it's around double the price of the mains operated machine.i understand surgeries/clinics sometimes loan out nebulisers free of charge but generally if patient's require one they do have to purchase it themselves.
