Do you mean your grandmother was in a relationship with a GI when they were 'Over Here' in the second world war? Did the GI go home and not know he was going to be a father?

not quite Dot.....I wondered how the children of GIs fared without their paternal men around.

1. Feel aggrieved
2. Found GI father
3. Found extended family in US

My neice & nephew feel aggrieved they weren't told before their GI g'dad had died. Also annoyed to discover their stepdad was not their biological dad - puts all their geneology in the air.
