Anyone ever felt "funky" about other people feeding your baby?

. . . bottle feeding obviously! I'm happy with other people holding my baby, but I feel very odd at the idea of someone else feeding her. I have tried to let other's do it but I'm just not happy with it. My husband really doesn't understand it. Anyone else experienced this?

why are you not happy with it, and do you feel the same way about your husband feeding her?

I wouldnt be too concerned if youre happy to let others hold her. Feeding time (breast or bottle) is a special cuddle time and some mums just like to have that time for themselves.

I breast fed so can't really say. I didn't like people holding them for too long. For no reason other than give me my baby back I want to hold them.

I'm fine with my husband feeding her, but yes I think you're right I think it's because you want to keep somethings just between you, your partner and your baby.

Before anyone goes eeww!! My bestfriend and I both fed ( breast fed ) each other's babies. Not often but it meant the babies were always happy. They are now 30 years old and don't seem to have traumatised by the experience. :o)

Breast fed my first three children and then had to go back to work but on the last two (twins!) I was so sleep deprived (and feeding them both on demand) that when I was passed someone else's baby at playgroup all I could think was 'Don't feed this baby!!!'

Yes, I hated seeing others feed my daughter - I felt so useless, pushed out and angry. Some people I was fine with but even now there are some people who aren't allowed to feed her, and she 17 months! Feeding is a special time, don't feel pressured into letting others feed her if you're not comfortable with it.

Maybe its because feeding is sort of designed to be mummy/baby time?
Strange, but when they start on solids,nobody ever wants to feed them then!

my sis loved it when i fed her baby, it meant she could do other little tasks or just relax
