SWINE FLU JAB
6 Answers
we went for a swine flu jab 3 weeks ago, had the jab with no ill effects just a sore arm for a day, we were told to go back for the second jab in three weeks, went yestrday, trugged thru the snow etc only to be told that they were no longer giving the second jab unless you had a poor immune system but hubby who is diabetic was told he didnt need it either. When I asked why we could not have been phoned to save a wasted journey as the appt was for 11am, the nurse said she had forgotten we were coming !
Has anyone else been told they dont need the second jab ?

That was on the 1st Dec and I think a few days later I heard on the news that they didn't think the second jab was neccessary.
We all had it with no side effects other than sore arm and a massive lump (injection site) for a week or 2.
Second jab for hubby and daughter was even less painful with hardly any swelling.

Apparently there were two different vaccines in a "post code lottery" once again, one was the one off jab that was causing bad re actions and the other was in two goes, now did the NHS only send the second dose in small quantities thus only the immune got it or was it really uneccassary to give the second jab ? of so why did they say 3 weeks ago it was definately neccesary to have the second one ?Have we been brainwashed once again due to loss of funds or what ?the mind boggles !!!!!!!!

The UK ordered 2 different types of vaccine. The most common was Pandemrix, which is grown in eggs, and only requires 1 dose to provoke an immune response. This is however unsuitable for those people with egg allergy or similar, so a second vaccine, Celvapan, was also ordered, which is NOT manufactured in eggs, and is therefore suitable for those who have an egg allergy. However,it is less good at provoking an immune response, so 2 doses are required, 3 weeks apart.
Since only a very small proportion of the population suffer from egg allergies, there was no need to order large quantities of Celvapan.
As to Pandemrix, the single shot vaccine, causing bad reactions - where are you getting this information from, because you are misinformed. All the reports from the Health Protection Agency have shown that Pandemrix has proven to be remarkably safe, at least as well tolerated and safe as the seasonal flu vaccines.
And no, we havent been brainwashed, nor has the UK skimped on the provision treatment options in the event of a pandemic and vaccination protocols - In fact, the UKs response has been the envy of the world.
