Never too old or too late for fitness
6 Answers
Just thought I would share this as it may motivate and assist others.
I am a 55 yrs old male. I recently had been told I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and also overweight. I had become lethargic, and ached everywhere. I would sit and watch the tv instead of going out most evenings. I ate everything I shouldn’t have.
I changed my diet radically eating fish, chicken, fresh fruit everyday and walked every night uphill for 30 mins till gasping! Six month later I had a check up and little had changed. Over the past 6 weeks I joined for the first time in my life, a gym! It is the best thing I have ever done. I go 3 times a week for approx 40 mins. The lady who is running it, it is an ex pro athelete and knows her stuff. I was put on an easy programme to ease me in, and lately the anti has been upped a fair bit!!
These days, I can hardly sit still! I am buzzing again like a child. My libido is returning and so is my get up and go so to speak. I am losing weight for the first time in my life, and can see my belly slowly sinking!! My man boobs are also on the way out. I`m not saying its been easy, as I come out of the gym feeling like Iv`e been beaten up, and can hardly walk. However within half an hour I am running on a full tank.
My skin feels softer and so does my hair for some reason. My circulation is great also, I no longer get leg aches and pins and needles.
In the morning I no longer ache and I can run upstairs like a 10 year old!
Just thought this may give hope to any other over fifty people who are not too good and are looking for a new idea in there life. Don’t worry about the gym being full of super fit people, for the most, you will find they are full of like minded people who take no notice of what you look like, just have a go and don’t give in. All the best.

Great story, good luck and all the best!

Thank you everyone for your support, I appreciate the input. I do hope I have inspired people to have a go. O by the way I must say also that my desire for food seems to have somewhat gone away! Well at least the need for quantity! I guess the rowing machine has tightened up the old tummy and I can`t get the same quantity in which is great!! As people say on this thread I feel like I am "reborn" Please have and dont give in. I know it is a big ask, but believe me it is worth the effort. Go go go>>>Nothing to lose, only weight?? Thanks again everyone.x
