Hi, <br>My niece'll be turning 18 this June and (significantly ?) is moving away from home to go to uni later in the year. I've an idea what I'll be buying her (couple of keepsakes plus cash) but wondered if I should be thinking about something <i>useful</i>. Any opinions ? Thanks

Firstly, as you've seen, HTML doesn't work in here...

Anyway, as you've almost certainly worked out, the most useful thing you can give your niece is money...
Well, it depends on the person really but either ask your daughter if there is anything she needs / wants and maybe that could be an idea, or give her money so that she can buy something herself and that way you know it's something that she likes. I think that is my best suggestions and I hope she has an excellent 18th Birthday.

Thanks, you've both confirmed what I thought. She's going on holiday with her boyfriend in July so can't go wrong with cash ;o) Oh & yeah - HTML used to work here ... :((
Glad you have found something. Where are they going on Holiday

She still absolutely loves the teddy I bought her when she was born, so I'm gonna get another one, it's wearing a t-shirt that'll have her name, dob, 18th. She can leave one at home & take one to uni then. And she's off to Spain. Lucky, lucky girl ! lol
Cutlery, crockery, loads of tins of food, iron and ironing board. Their basics but people always forget them lol
im with bobjugs on this one x
