Why does my 6 month old daughter screech

She does a lot of babbling as most do at this age but she lets out a screech a lot as well. Not in pain just for the fun of it

She`s just exploring her voice and whilst you may not care for the sound, she must do or she would stop it. Don`t make a fuss and she will move on to other sounds, its a lovely age isn`t it?

Yes I guess you are right. I hope though she grows out of it soon. I love the babbling and we have lots of fun interacting. It is such a joy to have her.

mamy's right. She does it cos she's found she can. It's a her thing, not aimed at alarming anyone, but when she twigs it does....oh ho ho

as the others have said, she does it because she can - my daughter developed a fake cough at about that age, because it got her some attention! As soon as we all started to ignore it, she gave it up.

It's hard to ignore it but will try to not make a fuss. Will have to make more of the good noises!
