help! i need to make new friends, all my mates have a small family now, new baby, newly weds, just me left :-(

I am quite a shy person but really wants to make new friends, but dont know how or where?? i want to start dating too, but i seem to scare them away :(

any good sites to chat etc??

i am looking for a new hobby but just cant think of any that cost too much... and i dont like doing things on my own .. like going into clubs cinema on my own? :-(

my opinion.. be brave and get out there. meet real people. take yourself out of your comfort zone. look in your local paper or online for local events. I joined a local film club, one person organises (non-profit), she emails out the choice of 3 films, we vote and we turn up! it's the price of a cinema ticket, plus a drink or 2 after.

if it's not happening in your area, start it up!

There`s a social activity club called Spice www.spiceuk.com which have social nights, weekends away, days out etc. It`s not a dating site, just a social site. You could try that as a place to start. Walking groups can be good. The Ramblers have a section for younger walkers. It`s a cheap day out too. Sporting activities are a good way to meet people. Chat rooms arn`t the real world so I wouldn`t bother there personally. Don`t give up on the internet dating either.

askyourgran: yeh i work but in my team they are mostly married and 45+ alot older than me, well theres a couple i could go out with we all get on and similar age, i think we are gonna arrange a night out, dont know when though, maybe i should arrange it. hmm besides im the only girl in that team and more organised than them lol
