trying for a baby

me and my partner have been trying for a baby for 7months now, i have not been on the pill for the whole time, we are worried that one of us can not conceive, can any1 help with this? thanks

Is that the one where I wrote Stuart instead of Stewart? As far as I am aware, the Royal Family of Scotland was known by the name of Stewart, yet when they took over the English throne they were Stuarts. Just a variant spelling, I thought. Anyway, time to crawl back to my lair and lick my wounds. I have just been called a Sassenach unmentionable who talks excrement on another thread, and have no desire to reignite old conflicts. For many years the Scots had a reputation (unfairly, as I thought at the time) for being dour Presbyterians, totally devoid of humour. Interesting to see that our current Scottish contributors are more than happy to maintain that sterotypical image.

I have spent a few moments checking the works of Robert Burns and can find no reference to the phrase you mention. Plenty of "Great chieftain o' the puddin' race" and "Wee sleekit cowrie timorous beastie", but no "F@@k off and multiply". Anyway, as everyone knows, when it comes to Scottish poetry, Robert Burns was a mere amateur compared to the great William McGonagal.
