(If you get what I mean). Its gonna be the 2nd xmas without Dad so xmas is never the same. Mum used to do a big roast turkey and the trimmings but last year we ended up in a pub for xmas lunch and it is not the same. This year I was kinda excited (til the snow came causing travel difficulties) cos it is the first time I am spending xmas away from home. Gonna be spending it wiv my bf at my future Mum-in-law's house. lol
Im not looking forward to Xmas, Im single, alone, not many friends (the ones i do have are married and always go away at this time of year) and although I come from a large family not one of them invites me to over at Christmas, so once again I shall be spending it on my own..which isnt too bad...I can watch and eat and drink what i like...but just feel a bit isolated and hurt that my family never can be bothered to travel to see me, I always have to make the effort to stay in touch with them..it gets tiring..i feel if I didnt make this effort I dare say they would forget who i was.
Thanks for your thoughts, PP, but I'll stress what I said in my post: I'm not particularly looking forward to Christmas but that shouldn't be interpreted as "I'm dreading it".
I hope that you too will be able to find something to cheer you up a bit over Christmas, so (in the hope that that the words might turn out to really have some meaning, rather than just being traditional) I'll wish you a very happy Christmas.
