Pampers
Pampers is one of the world’s top selling brand of nappies. The brand has introduced such product features as re-sealable tabs and high stretch which creates convenience, comfort and value. As well as an extensive range of disposable nappies Pampers also produce wipes, gender specific nappies, training pants and bed protectors.
Victor Mills revolutionized child care with the invention of the disposable diaper; he began work on that product in the 1950s, using his grandchildren as test subjects. Pampers were introduced in 1961. In the early days nappies were bulky and heavy, composed of fluff pulp with a rayon topsheet and polyethylene backsheet.
In 1971 Proctor and Gamble replaced the pin-on design with tapes which was revolutionary. In 1986, thin diapers made with absorbent gelling material was released. This made the average weight of a typical medium size diaper decrease by around half.
The pampers Nappy range now includes New Baby, Active Fit, Easy Up Pants, Potty Training Pants, Baby Dry, Simply Dry and Pyjama Pants. Pampers are produced by Proctor and Gamble who also make other well known brands such as Vicks, Ariel, Bold, Bounce, Duracell and Gillette.
