Danny must have got a new sim card, so Jakes phone did not recognise it.

It said unknown number on the screen, usually it has [phone] or something like that

its impossible to hide the identity of a phone on a text message

Not sure how but if I txt from my land line my number doesn't show, perhaps coz I got my number blocked.

some phones have a setting where you can set it to not to reveal your number to the recipient
