I've read that the new landlady at the pub in Corrie is gonna be called Stella. Anyone think that's a bit corny, given that Stella's a lager? (I know it's only make-believe).

I always wonder why the writers never use the same name for characters. In real life there could be three johns on that street. You'd call them big john, chippy john etc. I think it would be more beleivable.

Yes, Crisgal, I've thought that, too. Brookside did it. It had 2 Jimmys. It was also the first (and I think only) soap that I've heard one of the characters saying that they watch 'Corrie'.
