A few days ago I tried a bottle of this stuff just to see what it tasted like. Also local Coop had it on offer for £1.50(it's in a pint bottle). It was a very pleasant drink although I don't think I could drink much of it as it was just a little sweet for my taste. Any else tried it?

yeah, i tried it a while ago now. recall that I quite liked it compared to strongbow, but think it would be a bit sweet to have a night out on. personally I really like thatchers "katy".
Why is it spelt that way scotman? I've seen the billboards advertising it. I don't like a sweet cider so thanks for taste testing it!
cause it's french!
Quite nice but a little sweet...very drinkable though
French? Belgian, surely....?
As real Devonian rough Cider drinker, I wouldnt let the stuff past my lips, a dreadfull thought!!

My Cider comes straight off the farm at 50 pence a pint, absolute nectar!! :-)
wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, i only drink Thatchers, either Katy, Green Goblin or Cheddar Valley, and its all made only about 10 miles from where I live. :-)

Dave.
belgian french to be a pedant in this...and yes, a wee bit not balanced and sugary as compared to "le vrai produit de la region de Cornouaille, Devon et Somerset. "They have been offering this for years "en la Belgique."
//50 p a pint off the farm// £1 to relieve yourself.
Looks like your dog drinks the Devonian cider as well Ratter15.
Hi, Dave ...

One of my locals, The Mesmerist, has several Thatcher's ciders on sraught.

They have that Cheddar Valley. I've always been a bit put off by the name (bit "cheesey"?).

I haven't tried the Stella stuff.
Try it Jayne, its lovely stuff.

Dave.
I haven't tried this, and don't think I'd want to either. The name "Stella" is enough to put me off.
I rarely drink cider, but if I do, it's got to be Thatchers Gold. Like Webbo, it's made just down the road from me! :-)
Daily, they would if they had the chance!!!

Being Irish, its the Guinness they prefer. :-)
Is it a bit strong, Dave?

One of them ("Gold"?) is about normal strength, like a lager.

One of them is 7 point something.

I sometimes fancy a cider on a hot lunch time, but I don't want to have to be taken home in a wheelbarrow.
No its not the strongest, Thatchers Vintage and Katy are 7.4% Cheddar Valley is 6%, so a pint or 3 and you will be ok. :-)

Dave.
so you are alright being taxi-ed, carried, trucked home, jayne?

sounds like you would be termed a "noice bit of scrumpet" down here!
Too sweet for my taste I'm afraid scotman, and it looks like Lucozade :-P

A pint of 'Rattler' would go down nicely right now though.

Bottled coders tend to be very mainstream here. I don't think I have ever seen Thatchers.
If I fancy a bottle of an evening I usually go for Henry Weston's. Local Coop has it at £1.50 for 500ml and it is 8.2%.
