Retsina
I like Retsina and it always make me recall those holidays, back-packing around the Greek Islands, in the 70's, when I was younger.
But can anyone recommend a really good, strong-flavoured Retsina ? I remember the stuff that they used to serve in small Tavernas, and the taste f pine resin was really noticeable. All I can get in the supermarkets are just too mild. What I want I suppose is a real Vin Ordinaire, but Greek !

Thanks you two ! Yes, Sandy, memory does play tricks. I can remember having dinner every evening, in a deserted bay on Mykonos. There was nothing there apart from a small Taverna. You had to walk over the cliffs to get there as there was no road. Sometimes you had to wait until the chap came back in his boat with fresh fish...something like Red Snapper perhaps. That and loads of fresh bread and the best Greek Salad you have ever tasted, with a simple olive oil dressing. There were always olives to snack on if the fisherman was late. And lashings of Retsina, poured from giant gallon bottles, more like jars, covered with raffia.
