Travel Insurance

Can anyone help with advice on travel insurance for the older person with a few medical concerns, the usual BP, Cholesterol, Arthritis etc.
Personal knowledge would be especially helpful.
We have travel insurance with our bank account but this year they want us to pay an additional £91 each, I want to see if this is reasonable or if I should try elsewhere, before May my husband had nothing to pay then I reported that he had had a Basel cell carcinoma removed and they then requested £28 till the end of June and now this demand.
Am I right in thinking this is unreasonable ?
Thanks in advice for any replies, much appreciated.

However if you're already getting free travel insurance through your bank account (and simply paying a supplement on top) I can't see how anyone else could offer you a cheaper deal (as you'd then have to pay both the basic amount and the supplement with them).

I am 82 years old and at moment obtaining quotes for a 7 night holiday in Portugal.I have declared HBP,High Cholestoral, Gout and Shingles.Have received the following quotes...Staysure £84-11.Post Office £77-57, Saga £66-20, Just travel (holiday Angel) £45-30.
The latter is of course the cheapest but I have not heard of them before so need further investigation.

Whistonian's quotes appear to be for a one off trip. Some bank accounts have travel insurance for UK & Europe and others offer "worldwide." If you plan to go outside Europe and take more than one holiday in the year, maybe the extra premium you are being asked to pay is not so bad? Also, check the cancellation over included - this is usually something like £5000 pp. You can cover for more if it's a more expensive trip by paying an extra premium. The amount will vary according to how much cover you buy - e.g. £8000 each = £60 approx.
Thanks for all the responses so far, we do require world wide annual cover as our son and family live in USS, this of course means we cannot cut corners with travel insurance. Still investigating the bank angle. Bank will cover us till we get to 80, a few years to go, I am trying to work out if the bank account charges are worthwhile, we changed to Club from Gold with Lloyd but kept Gold so we still had this cover . . . . .

I used the same one as saintpeter48 last year OKTOTRAVEL as both myself and wife have pre-existing. They were on the staysure site and found them very reasonable and a lot cheaper than the last ones we used. If you are not sure about certain conditions you get to talk to someone on the computer and they give you all the answers and the good thing with that is that you can print it out afterwards so you have a copy and proof of what you are covered for.

If I am not mistaken, your medical conditions are covered with the standard insurance plan.
You should compare different options, there are a number of comparison services such as money.co.uk, travel supermarket, money supermarket, confused.com (the last one provides independent research) etc. Every company allows comparing deals as well e.g. http:// www.glo belink. co.uk/c ompare- travel- insuran ce.html
