that happened to me Gness many years ago - friend and I were engrossed in conversation - inadvertently she thought I had paid - I thought she paid - both of us walked out. Meal was rotten anyway.

How did you get away with not paying? Didn't some staff notice that you were leaving?

I went out for lunch with my family recently, and we were waiting for ages after we'd asked for the bill. We got up to leave (we were going to pay, obviously) and then suddenly the bill appeared.
