Wetherspoons Running Out Of Beer (Courtesy Of Private Eye)
By their Bar Staff: Karl Sburg and Stella Artois
As the taps started to run dry in Wetherspoons pubs around the country, boss Tim Martin explained that they were running out of excuses.
‘We are running short of plausible excuses for the beer shortage.’ Said Mr Martin ‘We’ve put it down to the lack of HGV drivers and to the recent strike action by drivers and warehouse staff. Then of course, there is Covid to blame. But we have a serious problem with our excuse supply chain. Soon enough we’ll totally run out and there’ll be only Brexit left.’
Said one Remoaner (Hymie?), ‘Unlike Martin, I’ll never run out of bitter. I’m 100% bitter, with a nice foam on top – at the mouth.’
