My husband can no longer tolerate cows milk and is having to have toast for breakfast iinstead of cereal and milk and black tea etc - he is desparately missing milk in tea. Can anyone recommend a milk alternative that doesn't taste too bad. We have tried soya milk - no good!! Has anyone tried rice milk?
Quick answer, thank you. I haven't tried goats milk but have tried goats cheese which left an aftertaste. Will give it a go so he can have a cup of tea with milk in.
I was on a cows milk free diet years ago and goats milk is great, no taste difference to me, only problem back then was finding it, Asda used to sell it. I'm sure he knows theres cows milk in loads of things though e.g biscuits etc, but some supermarkets mark the packets now as suitable for cows milk free.
I don't drink cows milk ..lacto intolerant. On cereal you can't beat Oatly milk. They sell it in Tescos. You can put it in tea but I dont think any
other milk tastes the same in tea so I have black tea with lemon. You get used to it ! http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/fram eset/detail/601611.html
My husband is not lactose intolerant but has the embarrassing problem in that shortly after having milk in tea, yoghurt or even butter on his toast he develops a terrible sour taste in his mouth and his breath smells absolutely horrible. If he doesn't have milk, i.e. black tea it is fine.
my little girl is dairy allergic and soya allergic. She drinks Rice Dream which is a rice milk. I think alprovemel? also make one. Rice dream make one which has also got almonds and hazelnuts in and is just yummy, esp in coffee.
I don't have milk in tea nymore, it took me ages to get used to it, but now I have and I love it.
it's available in tesco and also sommerfield, which is useful
