yeah but how long .....time could be running out ........
The spelling 'whisky', (with no e), is also used in Canada.

Then there's 'George Dickel's Tennessee Whisky', again with no 'e'.

Some US legislation uses both the spellings, 'whisky' and 'whiskey', seemingly indiscriminately.

And it's the term 'Scotch Whisky' that's protected, not the word 'whisky'.
Oh! And if the seal remains fully intact on the bottle, it should keep for a couple of hundred years.

In Wales we call it Chwisgi.

Whiskey is recorded as having been brewed by monks in Ireland during the 15th cent. Subsequently, the canny Scots took over the market and re-labelled it Whisky.

If it's true that St.Patrick was a welshman, then Wales should be congratulated for having been the originators of the drink.
A bottle of 81-year-old scotch has sold for 54-thousand-dollars in New York states first liquor auction since Prohibition. The 54-thousand-dollar bottle was distilled at Macallan in Scotland in 1926, bottled in 1986 and rebottled in 2002.
Thanks for this reassurance. I've just given my dad some whisky to drink and wasn't sure it it would be OK. It is Chivas Regal 12yo whisky which was given to me in 1981 and I've not opened it.

I've also given him some opened (at least 10 years ago) Irish Whiskey - will this be OK?

Fifthy stuff - I'm glad to get rid of it...
Should have kept the Irish stuff, great for cleaning paint brushes.
