Stain Rx. Just get all the soapy residue out of the carpet/upholstery using water and the attachments from a carpet shampooer or wet/dry shop vac. If a gray spot forms in a few weeks it is dust sticking to the soapy residue. Add water and REMOVE THE SOAPY RESIDUE. That's how I have been doing it for around 35-40 years.
Stain Rx (a.k.a. Erado-Sol). Put some on a wet rag and wipe off the red wine stain is seconds. You won't believe what else it can clean. Remember to remove all the soapy residue using the attachments from a carpet shampooer or a wet/dry shop vac and water. If you get a gray spot in a few weeks that is dust sticking to the soapy residue. Add water and REMOVE THE SOAPY RESIDUE.
