Marqués De Riscal Rueda 2009, £6.73 (12.5%). My favourite wine producer from back in Spain. This is not the monovarietal Verdejo I bought over there, but a blend of Verdejo and Sauvignon. Very nice !
Milford Point NZ Sauvignon Blanc, £4.99 (13.5%). Lovely gooseberry and citrus aromas, very fruity and intense on the palate. Very strong for a white, but extemely easy drinking.
Conegliano Prosecco Superiore Brut 2009, £6.69 - down from £9.95 (11%). Prosecco, whilst not Champagne, is far more elegant and moussy than Cava. A lovely, persistent fizz with almondy citrussy nose. Yum !
karen....reminds me of a funny story (well I think it was funny) met my mother, for the first tome in many years, in Singapore and she had never stayed in a hotel before and wines were not her forte due to her being rather impoverished.
She had obviously been reading up on her wines, because when asked by the wine waiter in this very posh restaurant what would she like to drink, she confidently said............Asti Spumante.
Oooo...I'm heading to Sainsbury's tomorrow....The Marques De Riscal is a familiar label, and those I've had have been quite enjoyable. The NZ sounds just my style.... ;-))
