6 Answers
im 17 and usually very outgoing. i have a heap of friends and 5 best friends. i play cricket netball soccor hockey tennis and am always willing for a game of squash. i love drama and the performing arts. i always have to be doing something and love keeping busy. but for the last 2 months or so ive jus wanted to stop and sleep. not because im warn out or anything. but just because i cant be bothered with life.(its not as bad as that sounds). i wud never do anything stupid because i know theres SO much to live for and i truly am excited about what the future holds. but lately iv had to think - i dont want to end my life, but i just want to sleep. really sleep.. just for a few months. its happened before but not for so long. has anyone felt this? how do u snap out of it?

Some of these are notorious for causing depression, and they can hang around for ages (months, even years). If you ever feel slightly shivery, aches and pains all over the place, vaguely not right, then it's possible. It might be worth getting your doctor to check you out.
you've almost described me there! i'm 20 and i feel the same thing from time to time and i'v spoken to my friend about it and he said he has the same feeling. i think it's normal. to me it's the ultimate escape. you just want to sleep because it's so relaxing and some times i get the feeling i want to step back and let life wash over me for a bit, i dont know if i can totaly explane it but i feel beeing a very busy person myself that it's just the feeling of wanting to just stop and take a time out and have a total rest from everything even thinking. either way your not alone.

There are a few options
1) time of the year
2) Hormonal - I know nobody ever wants to hear that but it's a possibility at your age
3) Viral
Might be worth talking to your GP. Mind you, i'm 29 and if someone gave me a bed and said you can stay here for as long as you want, i feel as tho i could sleep for month right now, so you're not alone!!
Sounds a bit like S.A.D to me, which is a condition brought on by seasonal change such as darker months etc, loads of people are prone to it. Do a search on google to find out about it and see if you fit the symptoms. I know one of the ways to combat it is by using a special daylight lamp on a morning. Still see a doc in case tho! Hope you find the answer :)
