Big Sis disowns me now, Star. How was I to know my jeans zip would die when I was in a very posh garden centre? I get my own back now, just tell her 'your nose is running' even when it isn't ;o)
janzman - I never pick up the special offers without close scrutiny - somewhere along the line i have become my own grandmother

Not uncommon in all supermarkets. My daughter has pointed out that "Buy one get two free" Easter eggs are £2.50 each, last week they were £1 each! Yes, I know it's a saving, but if I only want to buy one egg, I'm being robbed.
An Asda notice once offered some packs of coleslaw at 2.49p, which seemed an excellent bargan, the manager to whom I spoke really couldn't see the problem but wouldn't take 3p from me for it!

I've found that you have to do a bit of arithmetic in Asda, they do things like that janzman. Today I picked up some Tetley Teabags from a display at the top shelf were jars of Nescafe Gold Blend coffee and underneath was a display of 160 bags of Tetleys tea, the placard said £3. But when I looked at the usual tea aisle the 160 bag of tetleys tea was £3.85. I wonder how many people had paid the 85p more for the teabags thinking it was the same price as the coffee.
Mrs MM had a voucher for soreen malt cake up to the value of £1.25. In Asda they were 67p each or 2 for £1.20 so she bought 2. At the checkout the cashier scanned the voucher and knocked off 67 pence. She pointed out the mistake, a supervisor was called and 10 minutes later it was all sorted. Mean while I had slunked out of the shop and was hiding in the car park.
My neighbour takes me out sometimes. I love it - and her. She has a little price checker in her brain and she goes round telling me no don't buy that, look it's cheaper if you buy this. I must save pounds when I go out with her. She does not claim to be brilliant but she has this ability to compare prices very quickly.
