I hope youve all had / having as good a day as ive had
Daughter & son in law came round with a sunday dinner all done ! had a lovely meal with my daughter , son , son in law and husband , love them all so much xx
Been at work all day listening to people moan about the cost of mothers day cards,. they should think themselves lucky they have a mother to buy one for.
Got home and youngest son has left his card at work, I;'m taking him into work in a bit, and will call at my daughter and son's. Then home to have a rest as back at work in the morning,
My 2 eldest are away. My youngest made me lunch - spaghetti hoops on toast - before clearing off to his friends for the afternoon. Mr O has gone fishing. I'm all on my lonesome listing a load of tat on Ebay and having the odd nip of Baileys
My eldest sister took my mother out yesterday to some massive floral beano further up the county of Cornwall - beyond Lostwithiel and apparently there were thousands there. So the family had given my sis money to pay for the plants that my mother chose. Then we had dinner out. Just as well, my local normally gets 80 to 100 covers on a Sunday and I was down there this morning for a coffee, having picked up the Sunday rags. They were looking at 170 for lunch and around a 100 for dinner (the food is good though).
So have spent the day cutting grass and wild garlic for her - acres of the Sugar and, single handedly, I could have provided Covent Garden with a supply for your salads. I have now had a long bath and refreshed myself so we will see what there is for dinner and crack a decent bottle of wine.
spoke to my mother this morning and then daughter no. 2. she was very upset as she had seen an awful accident yesterday. did not actually see but was first vehicle coming the other way afterwards. not far away as she was in london.
spent the rest of time in the garden. have just come to get showered and prepare a meal.
Hi, ladybird - I, too, had a lovely Mothers Day. My son & his mate took me and mate's mum out for lunch. I ate so much I nearly burst and it's so nice not to have to cook Sunday dinner!! The only shame was that son's girlfriend has gone away for the weekend, so she & her mum didn't come (she forgot it was Mothering Sunday before she arranged it!!).
Visited my Mum in the Care Home today - I opened her cards, put the plants and flowers I had bought her in her room, and sat holding her hand while she drifted in and out of sleep. She seemed to recognise me and Dad a bit more today.
We sat looking through a scrapbook I have made of old photos - when she sees the ones of herself of years gone by, tears run down her face. It is heartbreaking.
Then came home, made my Dad stay for Sunday lunch, as he has not been well lately.
met son and his partner at southend, and had a very yummy roast dinner , and a really nice chat catching up on all the news of g/kids etc. (lovely day)
Always happy when I,m with the kids, love them to bits!
Mine was the same as every other, got up, opened cards, had to do weekly shopping, visit my mum, unpack shopping, walk dog, visit mother in law, cook tea then put feet up. Got flowers and chocs, kids all doing own thing. Least I get peace and quiet now they are all adults. Bottle of wine and chocs for me, may share with hubby if he's good.lol
