My friend Keith sometimes sees a little red blob in a chicken's egg. Is this a baby chicken?

Don't know for a fact, but we always thought that was a fertilised egg.

Apart from anything else, its an indication that the egg is very fresh.

It isnt a fertilised egg, these are kept very separate from unfertilised ones
It's not a fertilised egg. It's a little burst blood-vessel when the egg was being formed, and will do you no harm whatsoever.

Just remember that an egg is a chicken's period!
