Have you ever forgot to lock up ?
I have left house for the day and not only forgot to lock the door , but left the key in the lock also.
Also when I was a student , I left the petrol station unlocked from 10pm till 6am next morning. No one noticed , I was first in and got away with it.
In this case we had £100 in cash (change for float) and contents of shop ..stock etc ...but hey ...leave a 17 year old in charge ..what did they expect !
I used to run a whole self service garage on my own at the age of 17. So much for the age laws on selling fuel (18).
A chap who managed the forecourt , once went to the bank on a Monday morning.
After he had left, a customer asked to get into the ice cream fridge. Someone had left a brief case on top. He handed me the case and I chucked it behind the counter and forgot all about it. Anyway , about 1 hour later I noticed some commotion between the managers and I asked the mechanic what was going on ...he said "Forecourt manager has lost the takings ....oh I said ...What robbed ?"
No lost the briefcase with £20,000 in it ...
Whooo ...Is this it ?
It was funny to a 17 year old ... lot of red faces and I got given £20 by the chap for saving his day and job I guess :-)
oh the tales I could tell about that place ...
