Giving up my carbs...
8 Answers
I eat far too much bread, pasta, potatoes, rice etc.. so i've decided to cut them out of my diet for a week or so, has anyone done this and if you have, how did it make you feel? Sluggish or full of energy?

Before I started it,I was like you...all I seemed to eat was white carbs...and sweet stuff. But---no,I have never felt sluggish since giving up carbs. One of the principles of this plan is to get rid of cravings...which I have.
Stopped carbs and sugars 12 weeks ago. Essentially an Atkins Diet with a bit of Judy Cole.
Eating well; protein (lot of meat and eggs - some cheese every day) and greens (beware of sugar laden fruit)
Never felt hungry, feel really well. It's a much more natural diet without all the modern processed/sugar laden foods.
In the 12 weeks have shed 35lbs, reduced BP and Cholesterol has dropped from 4.5 to 3.4.
GP can't believe my blood test results.
Good luck. Post your progress.

Hi sandrajo-There are some basics here - http://theharcombediet.com/
I read about it last year, and was a bit sceptical. But-it stayed at the back of my mind. After going on a severe junk food binge and gaining almost a stone in 5 months after my daughter went off to Oz, I thought it was time to do something. I started in Feb. and have lost over 21 pounds. Like Zeuhl-I've stayed off processed stuff, dropped sugar and caffeine...and I eat plenty. I now weight less than I have in over 20 years.

Thanks so much for your replies Zeuhl & pastafreak, great advice. I just feel lately i've been binge eating as I'm working long hours and a quick unhealthy snack has been the solution for months now and the weight has just crept up on me and i'm so tired all the time...fed up throwing my money away at weight watchers. I don't need to lose alot but I do need to get back in to shape.
